About Puri's Point
Puri's Point est un break de récif amusant et punchy sur la côte de Lombok qui offre des murs constants et des sections ludiques pour les surfeurs intermédiaires. La vague propose des gauches et des droites, offrant aux riders de nombreuses occasions de travailler leurs virages et de gagner en confiance sur un récif vivant. Elle ne devient que rarement dangereusement grande, ce qui en fait un excellent spot de transition pour ceux qui passent des breaks de plage doux. Une ambiance détendue et un swell fiable en font un favori parmi les surfeurs séjournant dans la région.
Local knowledge
Le récif est constitué de corail vivant — peu profond à marée basse, donc les chutes peuvent entraîner de vilaines coupures et éraflures ; des chaussons sont à envisager pour les riders moins expérimentés. Faites attention aux courants de rip sournois qui longent le bord du récif lors de plus grosses houles, et des oursins sont dispersés dans les sections plus peu profondes près de la zone d'entrée. Le trafic de bateaux et de jukungs peut être un facteur lors des jours chargés, alors gardez la tête haute lorsque vous pagayez.
Garez-vous au warung le plus proche le long de la route côtière et suivez le court sentier rocheux jusqu'à la plage. L'entrée se fait mieux en chronométrant votre sortie en paddle à travers le chenal du côté droit du break — évitez de grimper directement sur le récif. Sortez de la même manière par le chenal ; n'essayez pas de marcher sur le récif sec à marée basse.
Une shortboard polyvalente (6'0"–6'4") ou une planche de milieu de gamme gérera la majorité des conditions ici, vous offrant la maniabilité nécessaire pour profiter des murs punchy. Lors des journées plus petites et plus molles, un fish ou un hybride vous aidera à générer de la vitesse à travers les sections plus faibles ; apportez un step-up si un swell solide est prévu.

Surfing in Lombok
Full Lombok surf guide →Lombok sits just east of Bali, separated by the deep Lombok Strait, and remains one of the most rewarding surf destinations in the Indonesian archipelago. It carries the spirit of an older Bali — quiet villages, jungle-clad hills, the towering Mount Rinjani volcano to the north, and a string of perfect bays and headlands along the south coast. The surf scene here is laid-back and adventure-driven rather than polished and packaged.
✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.

Lombok has a tropical climate with two clear seasons. The dry season (roughly April–October) is prime time: cleaner conditions, lighter or offshore mornings, and the most consistent south-coast groundswell. This is when nearly every spot — Mawi, Gerupuk, Seger, Are Guling and Desert Point — fires.
