About Puri's Point
Puri's Point is a fun, punchy reef break on the Lombok coast that serves up consistent walls and playful sections for intermediate surfers. The wave offers both lefts and rights, giving riders plenty of opportunity to work on turns and build confidence on a live reef. It rarely gets dangerously large, making it a great step-up spot for those transitioning from mellow beach breaks. A relaxed vibe and reliable swell make it a favourite among surfers staying in the area.
Local knowledge
Das Riff besteht aus lebendem Korallen — bei Niedrigwasser ist es flach, sodass Wipeouts zu bösen Schnitten und Schürfwunden führen können; Booties sind für weniger erfahrene Fahrer eine Überlegung wert. Achten Sie auf heimtückische Strömungen, die bei größeren Swells entlang des Riffrandes verlaufen, und Seeigel sind in den flacheren Abschnitten in der Nähe der Einstiegzone verstreut. Boot- und Jukung-Verkehr kann an geschäftigen Tagen ein Faktor sein, also halten Sie beim Paddeln den Kopf oben.
Parken Sie am nächsten Warung entlang der Küstenstraße und folgen Sie dem kurzen, steinigen Pfad hinunter zum Strand. Der Einstieg erfolgt am besten, indem Sie Ihr Paddeln durch den Kanal auf der rechten Seite des Breaks timen — vermeiden Sie es, direkt über das Riff zu klettern. Verlassen Sie den Spot auf die gleiche Weise über den Kanal; versuchen Sie nicht, bei Niedrigwasser über das trockene Riff zu waten.
Ein vielseitiges Shortboard (6'0"–6'4") oder ein Mid-Length wird die meisten Bedingungen hier bewältigen und Ihnen die Manövrierfähigkeit geben, um die kraftvollen Wände auszunutzen. Surfing in Lombok
Full Lombok surf guide →Lombok sits just east of Bali, separated by the deep Lombok Strait, and remains one of the most rewarding surf destinations in the Indonesian archipelago. It carries the spirit of an older Bali — quiet villages, jungle-clad hills, the towering Mount Rinjani volcano to the north, and a string of perfect bays and headlands along the south coast. The surf scene here is laid-back and adventure-driven rather than polished and packaged.
✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.

Lombok has a tropical climate with two clear seasons. The dry season (roughly April–October) is prime time: cleaner conditions, lighter or offshore mornings, and the most consistent south-coast groundswell. This is when nearly every spot — Mawi, Gerupuk, Seger, Are Guling and Desert Point — fires.
