Local knowledge
É um reef break, então mesmo que a onda seja suave, você ainda está surfando sobre corais — há seções rasas de recifes mortos e rochosas em marés baixas, além de ouriços-do-mar nas partes rasas, então usar botas é uma boa ideia. O maior perigo aqui é, na verdade, o uso compartilhado da água: Senggigi é uma praia turística movimentada com nadadores, mergulhadores e ocasionalmente barcos perto do lineup, então fique atento ao remar para dentro. As correntes geralmente são suaves, mas podem aumentar em swells maiores e com o fluxo das marés ao longo da baía.
Acesso fácil à beira da estrada — a principal avenida de Senggigi corre bem ao longo da praia, então estacione perto de qualquer um dos warungs à beira-mar, hotéis ou na área da Praia de Senggigi e caminhe diretamente até a areia. Remar para fora da praia durante a janela de maré média a alta, quando o reef tem água suficiente sobre ele; cronometre na maré crescente para evitar o coral exposto e seco na maré baixa. Muitos warungs, cafés e acomodações a poucos passos, então é um local fácil para se basear para uma sessão tranquila.
Uma prancha shortboard padrão funciona em um dia limpo, mas dada a natureza mais suave e de menor potência desta onda, a maioria dos surfistas se divertirá mais em uma fish, híbrida ou groveler para manter a velocidade nas seções mais planas. Full Lombok surf guide →Lombok sits just east of Bali, separated by the deep Lombok Strait, and remains one of the most rewarding surf destinations in the Indonesian archipelago. It carries the spirit of an older Bali — quiet villages, jungle-clad hills, the towering Mount Rinjani volcano to the north, and a string of perfect bays and headlands along the south coast. The surf scene here is laid-back and adventure-driven rather than polished and packaged.
✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.

Lombok has a tropical climate with two clear seasons. The dry season (roughly April–October) is prime time: cleaner conditions, lighter or offshore mornings, and the most consistent south-coast groundswell. This is when nearly every spot — Mawi, Gerupuk, Seger, Are Guling and Desert Point — fires.
