About Selong Belanak
Selong Belanak é uma praia ampla e curvada localizada a cerca de 30 minutos a oeste de Kuta Lombok, famosa por sua areia branca macia, cercada por montanhas e ondas perfeitas para aprender a surfar. É um dos locais mais recomendados para aulas de surf, com uma atmosfera relaxada e segura, além de muita infraestrutura local. Ao contrário dos reef breaks de Lombok, aqui as ondas quebram sobre um fundo de areia de forma progressiva, tornando a decolagem suave e fácil de controlar. Também é um excelente lugar para longboarders e surfistas que simplesmente querem fluir e se divertir sem pressão.

Sendo uma praia com fundo de areia, Selong Belanak é o mais indulgente que Lombok pode oferecer, mas o maior perigo aqui é a multidão — dezenas de iniciantes de escolas de surf em pranchas soft-top, ondas empurradas e pranchas descontroladas tornam a parte interna uma verdadeira zona de colisão, então fique atento. Correntes de retorno se formam ao longo da baía, especialmente em direção aos cantos da península e após alguns dias de swell, e podem arrastar um iniciante cansado rapidamente; a quebra na costa também pode ficar forte e pesada em marés altas nos dias maiores.
Acesso fácil — dirija cerca de 30 minutos a oeste de Kuta Lombok em uma estrada agora decente e estacione no estacionamento à beira-mar (pequena taxa); muitos warungs e barracas de aluguel de surf estão alinhados na areia. Basta caminhar diretamente da praia e remar através dos canais entre os picos — sem reef, sem pedras, apenas uma entrada de areia suavemente inclinada. A zona de decolagem tranquila fica no meio da baía, com picos mais limpos e menos lotados se você caminhar em direção a qualquer uma das extremidades.
Este é o paraíso dos longboards e mini-mals — traga uma prancha longa ou uma foamie nos típicos dias pequenos e suaves para aproveitar ao máximo as longas e suaves paredes. Quando um pouco mais de swell entra, uma fish ou funboard permitirá que você encontre as seções mais íngremes e se afaste das multidões das escolas.

✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.
