About Seger Reef
Seger Reef est à seulement 5 minutes en scooter de Kuta Lombok, et c'est l'un des spots les plus accessibles et constants de la région. Il offre une droite rapide et technique qui se brise sur le récif, et parfois une gauche plus courte. La vague de Seger est intense, exigeante et courte, idéale pour les surfeurs intermédiaires avancés à la recherche de manœuvres rapides ou de barrels lorsque le swell arrive aligné. Le cadre, avec des collines verdoyantes, une tour d'observation et des plages immaculées tout autour, en fait également l'un des endroits les plus pittoresques pour surfer près de Kuta.
Local knowledge
Le récif ici est peu profond et tranchant, surtout sur la section intérieure où la droite rapide se ferme sur du corail sec à marée basse — attendez-vous à des coupures si vous tombez. Il y a un courant notable qui longe le récif lors de plus gros swells qui peut vous tirer vers les rochers, et la zone de décollage devient étroite et compétitive quand ça fonctionne. Surveillez bien la marée, car à marée basse, la zone d'impact devient un véritable danger.
Accès facile — c'est à 5 minutes en scooter à l'est de Kuta Lombok, avec un stationnement près de la colline en dessous de la tour d'observation ; les locaux facturent généralement un petit frais pour surveiller votre moto. Depuis la plage, c'est un court coup de pagaie jusqu'au pic ; chronométrez votre entrée et votre sortie sur le canal à côté du récif plutôt que de vous précipiter sur le corail peu profond. Prenez une noix de coco dans l'un des warungs sur la plage avant ou après votre session.
Apportez votre shortboard habituel pour les jours de vagues punchy de taille taille à tête lorsque vous voulez des manœuvres rapides et verticales. Lorsque le swell s'aligne au-dessus et que la droite devient rapide et barreling, passez légèrement à quelque chose avec plus de drive et de tenue pour faire les sections raides et creuses au décollage.

It carries the spirit of an older Bali — quiet villages, jungle-clad hills, the towering Mount Rinjani volcano to the north, and a string of perfect bays and headlands along the south coast. The surf scene here is laid-back and adventure-driven rather than polished and packaged.
✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.
