About Seger Reef
Seger Reef está a tan solo 5 minutos en scooter de Kuta Lombok, y es uno de los spots más accesibles y consistentes de la zona. Ofrece una derecha rápida y técnica que rompe sobre arrecife, y ocasionalmente una izquierda más corta. La ola de Seger es intensa, exigente y breve, ideal para surfistas intermedios en progresión o avanzados que buscan maniobras rápidas o barrels cuando el swell llega bien encuadrado. El entorno, con colinas verdes, una torre mirador y playas vírgenes alrededor, lo convierte además en uno de los lugares más pintorescos para surfear cerca de Kuta.
Local knowledge
El arrecife es poco profundo y afilado, especialmente en la sección interior, donde la derecha rápida cierra sobre coral seco en las mareas bajas — espera cortes si caes. Con swells más grandes se nota una corriente significativa que corre a lo largo del arrecife y puede arrastrarte hacia las rocas, y la zona de takeoff se vuelve estrecha y competitiva cuando el spot está encendido. Vigila de cerca la marea, ya que con el agua baja la zona de impacto se convierte en un peligro real.
Acceso sencillo — está a 5 minutos en scooter al este de Kuta Lombok, con aparcamiento cerca de la colina bajo la torre mirador; los locales suelen cobrar una pequeña tarifa por vigilar tu moto. Desde la playa es una palada corta hasta el pico; calcula bien tu entrada y salida por el canal junto al arrecife en lugar de arrastrarte sobre el coral poco profundo. Tómate un coco en uno de los warungs de la playa antes o después de tu sesión.
Trae tu shortboard habitual para los días con olas potentes de cintura a cabeza, cuando quieras maniobras verticales y rápidas. Cuando el swell se encuadra por encima de la cabeza y la derecha se vuelve rápida y tubular, súbete a algo con un poco más de empuje y agarre para afrontar las secciones huecas y pronunciadas desde el takeoff.

It carries the spirit of an older Bali — quiet villages, jungle-clad hills, the towering Mount Rinjani volcano to the north, and a string of perfect bays and headlands along the south coast. The surf scene here is laid-back and adventure-driven rather than polished and packaged.
✈️Getting there
Fly into Lombok International Airport (LOP), near Praya in the centre-south of the island — a short 30–45 minute drive from Kuta Lombok and the main surf zone. There are frequent domestic connections from Jakarta, Surabaya and especially Bali (Denpasar), plus some regional international links.
🛵Getting around
A scooter is the default way to explore Lombok's surf coast — cheap to rent in Kuta and ideal for the dirt tracks leading to Mawi, Are Guling and the quieter bays. Bring board racks or a strap, and ride cautiously: roads range from smooth tarmac to potholed dirt, and rural traffic can be unpredictable.
