About DreamLand
Der Dreamland Beach ist einer der zugänglichsten und beliebtesten Spots auf der Bukit-Halbinsel in Bali. Mit Wellen, die sowohl rechts als auch links über einen freundlichen Beach Break brechen, ist er ideal für Anfänger bis Fortgeschrittene. Die Nähe zu anderen berühmten Stränden wie Bingin oder Uluwatu macht ihn zu einem Muss während einer Surf-Reise durch den Süden von Bali. Dreamland bietet bei Ebbe weiche, manövrierbare Wellen, obwohl es in der Hochsaison voll werden kann. Der Sandboden und das untergetauchte Riff ermöglichen es dir, ohne Booties hinauszupaddeln. Wenn ein guter Swell kommt, sind die Abschnitte kraftvoller, aber immer noch für Fortgeschrittene surfbar.
Local knowledge
Trotz des „Beach Break“-Labels hat Dreamland Riffe und Felsen unter dem Sand, insbesondere bei niedriger Tide und in Richtung der Klippenenden des Strandes — du kannst dir den Kopf oder die Schulter anstoßen, wenn du an der falschen Stelle fällst. Starke Strömungen bilden sich zwischen den Sandbänken und ziehen schnell hinaus, insbesondere wenn der Swell zunimmt, und das Lineup wird sehr voll mit Anfängern und Surf-Schülern, die keine Vorfahrt kennen. Der Shorebreak kann auch hart zuschlagen und Leashes an größeren Tagen reißen.
Einfache Anfahrt mit dem Auto oder Roller — parke auf dem großen Parkplatz des Klapa/Dreamland Resorts oben an der Klippe (kleine Parkgebühr) und gehe die Treppe zum Sand hinunter, wo es Warungs, Sonnenliegenverleih und Brettverleih direkt am Strand gibt. Paddle direkt vom Strand aus hinaus; nutze die Strömungskanäle, um an größeren Tagen hinauszukommen, sei dir aber bewusst, dass sie dich den Strand hinunterdriften lassen. Verlasse den Strand, indem du deinen Lauf zwischen den Sets timst, um den Shorebreak zu vermeiden.
Ein Standard-Shortboard oder ein etwas vollerer Allrounder funktioniert gut an druckvollen Tagen mit Brust- bis Kopfgröße; bring einen Fish oder Groveler für die weicheren kleinen Morgen mit, um deine Geschwindigkeit durch die sanften Abschnitte zu halten. Bei mittlerer Tide ist der Sweet Spot — an den meisten Tagen wirst du hier nichts Größeres als dein reguläres Brett brauchen.

It packs an absurd density of quality breaks into a small island: machine-perfect reef barrels on the Bukit Peninsula, mellow beach breaks on the west coast, and a Bali Sea wave or two over on the east.
✈️Getting there
Bali is the simplest surf destination in Indonesia to reach. Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar handles direct flights from across Asia and Australia, plus connections worldwide via Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and beyond. From Australia it's a short hop from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.
🛵Getting around
The default surfer transport is a scooter (110–150cc). It's cheap, easy to rent daily or monthly, and lets you slip down narrow Bukit lanes and beat the traffic. Bring or rent a board rack/strap. Wear a helmet, ride sober, and know that traffic is chaotic and Bali's road-accident rate is high — many travellers come unstuck here.

Bali has two seasons. The dry season runs roughly April to October — sunny, lower humidity, and the prime surf window for the south and west coasts, with consistent groundswell and clean morning offshore winds. This is peak season; expect crowds and book ahead.
